How do I redeem a voucher code I received for my Certification practice test?

If you have received a numerical voucher code for a practice test, self-assessment examination, or situational judgment exercise from your certifying body, please refer to the chart below for redemption instructions. Certification voucher codes must have additional information to be redeemed.

For example, if you received voucher number 41036521 for Form B of the AAVSB VTNE practice test, you would enter voucher code AAVSB-B-41036521. Find your certifying body in the list below and input your voucher code at checkout according to the sample:

How do I purchase multiple practice tests?

PSI Practice Tests are activated with an individualized access code that is sent via email upon completion of an order. Because each test is activated by a specific code, we're unable to sell multiple units of the same practice test in a single online transaction.

To purchase bulk access codes for practice tests sold on and fulfilled in the GMetrix exam readiness platform, contact PSI Customer Care toll-free at 866-589-3088.

Practice tests for Certification programs are not available to individual test takers for bulk purchase through the PSI Online Store. Please contact your certifying body for bulk test purchase options.

Licensure typically refers to a legal authorization granted by a government agency that permits an individual to practice a particular profession or occupation. Licensure is often mandatory and requires meeting specific education, training, and examination requirements. Common industries requiring licensure exams are Real Estate, Insurance, Barber / Cosmetology, and most Construction trades.

Certification, on the other hand, is a voluntary process that typically involves taking an exam to demonstrate mastery of a particular skill or knowledge set. Certification is often offered by professional organizations and demonstrates a level of proficiency in a specific area of expertise.

How do I access my practice test?

Once you purchase your practice test, you will receive a second email from PSI Support which will contain an access code redeemable at Many our practice tests are purchased through the Online Store and fulfilled in GMetrix exam readiness platform. Unless you already have an existing GMetrix account, you will need to create a GMetrix account in order to access your test. Please note: This account is different than your PSI Online Store account.

You may either begin your practice test immediately after purchase or follow the link from These emails will come to your inbox with the subject line "Your practice test at PSI on [date of purchase]." These practice tests may only be accessed and taken once.

What if I never received my access code email?

This is only applicable if you made a direct purchase through the PSI Online Store. Please make sure to check your Junk mail folder for the email from email. This may take several moments to propagate.

What if I can't login in to my GMetrix account?

Please be sure to check your junk mail folder for the PSI Support email ( Please note that your PSI Online Store account will not be used to access GMetrix. A new account on must be created in order to access your practice test in GMetrix.

What book do I need to pass my test?

The Candidate Information Bulletin lists the reference materials and study materials that should be helpful to prepare for your examination. However, we cannot recommend any one book over another.

Will all of the questions of my test be covered in the book(s) I order?

The Candidate Information Bulletin sets forth the reference material used to prepare the questions on the test. Some tests are based entirely on a few books, while others are based on a wide variety of reference materials as well as trade knowledge and general industry practices.

If all of the questions on the test are not covered in the book(s) I ordered, what additional materials do I need?

The Candidate Information Bulletin sets forth the material and information upon which the examination questions are based. You have to decide how much of this material and information you wish to review and study.

Are practice tests included with the books?

Currently, the only books we sell that come with a practice test are the Business and Project Management for Contractors - Maryland Home Improvement Commission Edition and the Home Improvement Salesperson Reference Manual - Maryland Home Improvement Commission Edition. Some books do offer sample questions and/or short assessments. You can find that information in the Product Details section of each book's product page.


How do I enable cookies so I can add items to my shopping cart?

How can I view the status of my order?

To view details about current or past orders, use the Sign In link (or My Account link if you are already logged in) at the top of any page on the site to login to/access your account. After you've logged in, you will have access to order status, past orders, messages related to your orders, recently-viewed items, and general account information, including password and password updating.

Shipping Methods, Refunds & Policies

What are PSI shipping methods and costs?

PSI Online Store uses a variety of different shipping methods, including drop ship. Shipping rates will depend on the shipping method associated with individual products and will be reflected in your cart and checkout, prior to you confirming your order.

What if we're a tax exempt organization?

If you are a tax exempt organization, please note that it is the customer's responsibility to notify PSI prior to completing their purchase that they are a tax-exempt organization. If the order is completed and the sales tax is paid, a refund request of the sales tax must be done directly from the state in which the tax exemption reisdes using the State's Sales and Use Tax Refund Form. PSI does not issue refunds under any circumstances to tax-exempt organizations in the event that sales tax is paid when placing an order.

If I don't pass the test using a book I ordered, can I get a refund?

Refunds are provided when a customer receives a book different from that listed on the invoice or if the book is the wrong edition. PSI does not provide book refunds based upon a customer's performance on a test.

If I don't pass the test after taking a practice test, can I get a refund?

Practice tests are ineligible for a refund once an access code has been activated and a practice test has been taken. However, if you have not yet activated your access code, you may contact customer care at Please include "PT Refund Request" in the subject and provide your name, email address, order number, and access code in the body of your message. Our Customer Care team will review your case and get back to you with details of your request.
